SwapTunes is a music centric social mobile application designed to transform music listening into a community driven experience. It allows listeners and independent creators to connect through shared playlists, social interaction, and collaboration, rather than relying only on algorithm based discovery.
THE PROBLEM
Most streaming platforms focus on passive listening with limited social interaction. Independent creators struggle with visibility, collaboration opportunities, and building meaningful relationships with listeners. Collaboration tools and community features are fragmented across multiple platforms, making engagement inefficient.
THE SOLUTION
I built a Flutter based mobile app supported by a Node.js backend and Supabase database that combines playlist based discovery, social networking, and creator collaboration in one platform. Users can import Spotify playlists, interact through a social feed, and creators can showcase profiles, post collaboration requests, and chat directly.
THE OUTCOME
SwapTunes demonstrates the feasibility of a community driven music platform that enhances discovery through human connection rather than algorithms alone. The MVP successfully integrates mobile, backend, database, and external APIs in one full-stack mobile system.
